Everyday a photo of little miss and Jnr Madhouse to watch them grow and explore.
How they change so much.
sharing our travels along this road that is parenting and hopefully stopping to smell the roses and share a laugh along the way
I often wonder what my children will remember most of their childhoods, will they remember the games we play? the roadtrips? the splashing in the pool or will it be something completely different?
My earliest memory is my third birthday, My parents brought me a teddy bear amongst other things but i only remember this teddy.
I wandered out into the living room and saw this huge (in relation to me) wrapped package sitting on my mums ironing board, i tore at the paper and it revieled a teddy, white with coloured paws, each a different colour.
I loved this bear it came with me everywhere, i took it to bed, complained to it when my parents growled at me, hugged it when we had deaths in the family and confided in it, it was truely a comfort to me.
19 years every night i slept with this bear until 3 weeks before i was due to give birth to Jnr Madhouse, our family dog Sasha crept into our room and removed it from my bed.
According to her and another dog we had at the time it was an awesome tug of war toy. That night they destroyed it, completely ripped it apart. I was sad, heck i was heartbroken but i cant help but think maybe the universe was telling me something.
Maybe it was time to move on? time to let go of my childhood now that i was about to give birth. What ever the reason every night when i crawl into bed i still find myself looking for it, it fit perfectly into the space made infront of my chest as i curl up but that space has now been replaced by something far more special far more important.
I just hope one day my children will be able to replace their comfort blankets with something as special as they are.
Currently my camera is out of action so ill catch up on the moments posts shortly.
Things around the Madhouse have been very blissfull lately execpt the stress about Little Miss's passport.
We were meant to travel to NZ in 10 days but currently her passport is being processed. Because Mr Madhouse and myself are NZ'ders our children born here in Australia arent actually able to get Australian passports, they arent classed as Australian Citizens until they reach the age of 10! how messed up is that.
So we sent Little Miss's passport and application for decent to NZ and they messed it up causing it to having to be redone the chances of it arriving here in time are slim.
Mr Madhouse is doing crazy shifts atm so isnt around alot and Little Miss and I are heading to Perth for the day on monday.
So thats that nothing exciting to report but ill come up with something shortly i promise.
Take care y'all
Oh im so excited, on Little Miss's birthday i will finally get my second tattoo.
I already have one, a caduceus but im finally getting one for the kids.
Imagine this, outline of baby foot prints alot like this but cooler cause im awesome and in one footprint will have Jnr. Madhouse's D.O.B and Name written in Hebrew and in the other will have Little Miss's D.O.B and Name written in Hebrew.
*insert crazy grin and lots of clapping
Can ya tell me's excited? I cant wait
This Poem was printed out and given to me a few years ago.
To me it has a special meaning because it was given to me by my first SIDS baby's mother. She was very grateful for the effort myself and my partner put in with an unsuccessful resus attempt. From memory it was the first Job i got injured on too, i got a gash above my eye doing single CPR in the back of a moving ambulance, my head smacked into an overhead locker as we went around a round a bout.
The medic stood and faced God.
Which must always come to pass.
He hoped his uniform was clean,
He'd gotten dressed kind of fast.
"Step forward now, paramedic.
How shall I deal with you?
Have you always turned the other cheek?
To my church have you been true?"
The medic squared his shoulders and said,
"No Lord I guess I ain't,
cause those of us who wade in blood,
can't always be a saint.
I've had to work most Sundays,
and at times my talk was tough.
And at times I've been violent,
cause the streets are awful rough.
But I never took a penny
that wasn't mine to keep...
although I worked a lot of overtime,
when the bills got far too steep.
And I never passed a cry for help,
though at times I shook with fear.
And sometimes, God forgive me,
I wept unmanly tears.
I know I don't deserve a place
among the people here.
They never wanted me around,
except to calm their fears.
If you have a place for me, Lord,
It needn't be so grand.
I never expected or had too much,
But if you don't I understand."
There was silence all around the throne,
where saints had often trod.
As there medic waited quietly
for the judgment of his God.
"Step forward now, paramedic.
You've borne your burdens well.
Walk peacefully on heavens streets.
You've done your time in hell."

I have a bucket list
Well i guess you could call it a bucket list, its really a list of things i want my children to see and do before i expire.
being told you have a 10% chance of lasting 5 years tends to get you thinking about what matters in life.
Anyway..
1) go to Nepal and hike with the kids
2) show the kids poverty (go to bali)
3) go to south Africa
4) travel around NZ
So we have decided that we should start ticking these off, mid year the Madhouse Clan are off to Bali, I want the kids to have a kick ass holiday but also get a chance to see just how lucky they are, they have access to things that some people couldnt dream of and I want them to see that.
This year we started our Christmas tradition, every year the children help me make cupcakes and we take them somewhere to give back to those that help others, this year we took a batch of cupcakes up to the local ED. I want them to be exposed to some of the not so nice but real things in this life, to experience things i didnt have the chance to and be the change we want to see.
Compassion is the key this year. tick that off my bucket list
